Who we are and what we do
Founded in 2011, Mappedin powers search and discovery indoors, enabling consumers to find what they’re looking for with speed and ease. Our software platform provides industry leading tools to manage dynamic indoor spatial data and offer wayfinding experiences for customer-facing applications, including a recent collaboration with Apple Maps.
Mappedin works with the ten largest malls in Canada, the largest REITs in the US, and in stores, hospitals, campuses, and airports around the world.
The Product Strategy team at Mappedin includes Product Design & Product Management. As a whole, we drive vision and alignment around our products and how to successfully deliver them to the market. We are a group that is dedicated to finding the balance between creativity and data-driven decision making.
Who you are and what you’ll do
You are a curator of great ideas. You come with an experimental mindset, looking for ways to test and validate your assumptions. At the same time, you are comfortable making decisions in the face of uncertainty and know how long to spend investigating before making the call. You communicate effectively with people from across the organization and drive alignment towards common goals.
As part of the Product Strategy team and reporting to the VP Product, you will own product management for a portfolio of existing and potential new products. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle - from research to implementation, go to market, and maintenance:
Research problems worth solving and conduct customer development interviews to validate
Manage the flow of product input on existing in-market products from both internal and external sources
Scope new indoor mapping product or products to serve emerging verticals such as Health Care, Airports, Retail or Hospitality
Guide implementation and go-to-market strategy for new products as they are developed
Collaborate closely with our peers in Design & Development to ensure that the best possible solution is delivered

What are some challenges?
The product team at Mappedin is a continually evolving team that requires adaptability as we scale. You will be expected to contribute to how product management functions at Mappedin while being comfortable with the occasional uncertainty that is common in young companies.
As a small team at a company with a broad portfolio of products, you will be asked to become familiar with a wide range of products and their respective target markets. You will be asked to split your time between in-market product maintenance and new market exploration. This can sound like a lot of work, but it also means you have the chance to have a broad impact and high autonomy.
Behind the scenes
Our tool set currently includes ProductBoard, Jira, Slack, and G Suite, but we are firm supporters of supplying whatever tools are necessary for you to reach your full potential.
There’s a lot of trust here at Mappedin. We work flexible hours, have a flexible vacation policy and work to provide the hardware or office equipment you require to produce your best work. We will do what it takes to get things done if we said we would do it. We stay curious and will always ask each other questions, rarely making assumptions. We recognize that we are all different and will challenge each other’s views and perceptions from time to time, resulting in constructive and healthy debates, but that never stops us from all eating lunch together every day. Lastly, we have an awesome office cat who loves attention. Allergic? Don't worry, Hobbes stays on the other side of the office and won’t bother you unless you decide to work in the collaboration area there.
