Who we are and what we do

Founded in 2011, Mappedin powers search and discovery indoors, enabling consumers to find what they’re looking for with speed and ease. Our software platform provides industry leading tools to manage dynamic indoor spatial data and offer wayfinding experiences for customer-facing applications, including a recent collaboration with Apple Maps.

Mappedin works with the ten largest malls in Canada, the largest REITs in the US, and in stores, hospitals, campuses, and airports around the world.

The Marketing team is filled with people who are looking to combine creativity with data driven analysis, and applying that to everything we do. We ensure our products are presented in a way that highlights our position as a leader in indoor wayfinding and GIS.

Who you are and what you’ll do

You are a curator of content. You love to communicate, whether it be written or receptive communication. You will listen to the Mappedin audience and target markets to create authentic and impactful content across all marketing channels. Whether this is done with 280 characters, a customer case study, or a few words with the appropriate graphic, you know what to create and when to create it.

As part of the Marketing team and reporting to the Director, Marketing, you will be responsible for all things content, including but not limited to the following activities:

  • Writing persuasive case studies that effectively demonstrate the value of Mappedin’s products

  • Driving customer interest by creating content for our social channels

  • Researching industries directly and indirectly related to Mappedin and it’s customer base to write thought provoking pieces

  • Working closely with the other marketing team members to implement broader strategic initiatives

  • Collaborating closely with our peers in Design to ensure that the right message is being conveyed

You are highly interested in learning about or already have experience in:

  • Creating, editing, and revising different types of marketing content before going to production

  • Improving grammar, structure, and overall quality of branded content

  • Building relationships and awareness of key media outlets to aid in building better material that will catch the eyes of reporters

  • Growing online presence and communities through a well thought out content strategy

What are some challenges?

As a small team at a company with a broad portfolio of products, you will be asked to become familiar with a wide range of products and their respective target markets.  

One of our values is playing for the team so you may need to sometimes put aside personal objectives in order to help meet more urgent company objectives, but others will do the same for you. This can sound like a lot of work, but it also means you have the chance to have a broad impact and high autonomy.

Behind the scenes

Our tool set currently includes Copper, Slack, Mailchimp, and G Suite, but we are firm supporters of supplying whatever tools are necessary for you to reach your full potential.

There’s a lot of trust here at Mappedin. We work flexible hours, have a flexible vacation policy and work to provide the hardware or office equipment you require to produce your best work. We will do what it takes to get things done if we said we would do it. We stay curious and will always ask each other questions, rarely making assumptions. We recognize that we are all different and will challenge each other’s views and perceptions from time to time, resulting in constructive and healthy debates, but that never stops us from all eating lunch together every day. If you want to join our sports team, we have a blank bright orange jersey here waiting for your name to be printed on it.

Lastly, we have an awesome office cat who loves attention. Allergic? Don't worry, Hobbes stays on the other side of the office and won’t bother you unless you decide to work in the collaboration area there.
