The Role:

ApplyBoard is looking to add an HR Manager to our People team. This role is both a strategic and hands-on collaborator that provides HR support to the ApplyBoard Canadian headquarters. The position is critical in executing our people initiatives, providing great internal and external customer support and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement. Our HR Manager will be a driving force in championing our culture for the entire organization and a leader for our growing HR department. We expect our HR Manager to coach managers in the career development of their team members, stay on top of innovative HR initiatives, and offer creative solutions to business issues.

Responsibilities

  • Build and reinforce our company culture based on our core values

  • Innovate on ways to celebrate our employee's contributions that align with the vision and values

  • Create and implement traditions that help to build the culture

  • Build and widen channels of communication company-wide that support our growth as a business

  • Facilitate a frequent celebration on why we do what we do and the impact that we are making

  • Leverage Employee Satisfaction Surveys to identify pain points, then test and implement solutions

  • Build out plans for Retention and Succession

  • Collaborate closely with the Leadership team to support in their plans for business growth

  • Maintain HR compliance, payroll, and benefits administration with an eye for efficiency, process, and automation

  • Own and iterate on the full employee lifecycle including onboarding, offboarding, and everything in between

  • Coordinate and manage ongoing training and development for all employees

  • Ensure our employee handbook is up to date with recent regulations

  • Conduct ongoing salary analysis for positions across all locations and provide recommendations

  • Participate in the ongoing review of our benefits program and make recommendations on enhancing offerings

  • A self-starter, taking initiative to create new projects that will improve HR efforts and impact

  • Comfortable working with limited supervision and guidance

Preferred Qualification:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Management with CHRP

  • At least five years of experience in an HR Business Partner or similar capacity

  • Strong understanding of benefits administration such as medical, dental, vision, LTD and STD

  • Proficiency in HRIS and payroll applications

  • Experience in developing and shaping the culture of organizations

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • The ability to implement, train, and coach new HR initiatives across the company

  • Ability to work with all levels of staff

  • Ability to multi-task, setting appropriate priorities while ensuring that all deadlines are honoured

  • Strong attention to detail, ability to take on multiple tasks or projects and complete in a timely manner

  • A team player with a sense of humour
