Description

We are looking for an experienced Scientific Sales Executive to join an internationally renowned, multidisciplinary team to make a groundbreaking impact to the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.

Through the years, the team at Rapid Novor has developed an innovative protein sequencing technology that can be deployed in many applications, including drug discovery and cancer diagnosis. The current team consists of a group of esteemed members in all areas of proteomics, bioinformatics, software systems and the pharmaceutical industry.

The successful candidate will have the opportunities to learn from an array of experts in Sales and Marketing at The Waterloo Accelerator Centre, who will provide mentorship and coaching to help us succeed.  The candidate will have a hunter-mentality and will be actively reaching out to potential customers to build relationships and initiate conversations about our service offerings.   

Responsibilities

  • Actively research resources such as Google, LinkedIn, etc to identify potential customer contacts
  • Reach out to contacts and initiate sales conversations by phone - salespeople who rely solely on email need not apply
  • Managing all stages of the sales cycle including prospecting, needs analysis, presentation, proposal, negotiation and closing
  • Maintain up-to date sales pipeline for management to review and for forecasting
  • Customer relationship development at all levels, from the technical staff to senior lab leadership
  • Represent the company at conferences and tradeshows
  • Some travel may be required

Requirements

  • A University degree in biology, biochemistry or related fields. Master or PhD degree is an asset
  • Self-starter, results oriented, extremely tenacious, well organized
  • Positive attitude with a desire to succeed
  • Ability to interpret scientific concepts, methods and processes
  • Willing to learn and be coached
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Excited about an entrepreneurial, dynamic environment
  • 3 years of sales experience is required. Sales involving scientific products or services is a big plus
