As Pfera’s Sales & Business Development Manager you will personally be driving all aspects of the business development, sales and marketing activities reporting to the CEO. Cold calling and a significant amount of business development work will be required to establish Pfera’s innovative technology in the North American market and exceed your sales targets.

In the span of a week, you may find yourself at a farm showing a potential user how to track to their mare’s cycle, traveling with a vet going to a breeder to help streamline the record keeping process, or in the office doing cold calls to new leads and then provide demos.

Specifically, you will:

  • Identify leads using outbound and inbound activities to achieve your lead quota
  • Qualify leads then nurture quality prospects to close sales
  • Manage all aspects of customer success including onboarding and upselling
  • Develop, implement and refine the PFERA sales process to ensure sufficient leads are generated to achieve quarterly revenue targets
  • Manage the beta program
  • Provide weekly funnel and win/loss metrics to management
  • Report on competitive and market situation as well as recommend solution changes
  • Identify, plan and manage key events and tradeshows to drive awareness

About Your Qualifications:

PFERA is looking for a motivated self-starter with excellent communication and presentation skills AND who is excited and passionate about establishing a new innovative solution in the equine market. You have proven your ability to close sales and achieve your revenue targets. You have experience working through a full sales cycle and don’t shy away from cold calling to generate your funnel. Your ability to multi-task and handle a fast-paced, deadline-oriented working environment, ideally in a start-up is key.

Since our customers come from a variety of different parts of the equine industry, experience in selling a technology into an environment that typically doesn’t use technology to do their daily routine/ job would be an asset. Experience in uncovering the value of the solution to varied customer set and translating that into impactful messaging is also an asset.

You must be willing to travel extensively throughout Ontario but be based in Kitchener. A G2 class driver’s licence and access to a vehicle is required.

Knowledge of the equine industry and agricultural industry would be beneficial. Cross-disciplinary business skills and knowledge will be welcomed as PFERA is a fast-paced and growing startup.

Salary: 

38,000-45,000 / year
