Computer Vision Expert

Guard-Ex is developing a state-of-the-art impairment detection device. Our team is seeking an experienced engineer who can lead the testing of complex optical systems and computer vision algorithms involving pupil tracking cameras and sensors. The ideal candidate takes ownership of their work, is self-motivated & practical in their problem-solving and thrives in a fast-paced, highly-collaborative applied research environment. Your duties will primarily revolve around building software by writing code, as well as modifying software to fix errors, adapt/optimize it to new hardware, improve its performance and strategically suggest alternative methods. You will also be involved in directing system testing and validation procedures, and also working with data scientists, hardware engineers and software developers on technical issues including software system design and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical & Computing Skills

  • Develop novel computer vision algorithms and advanced systems with a focus on real-time sensor fusion, camera calibration, and 3D reconstruction.
  • Research, develop and prototype advanced hardware and software technologies related to pupil tracking, 3D reconstruction, photometric stereo and object detection.

Research & Development - Optimizing Algorithms

  • This individual is also responsible for conducting research using the latest AI/ML techniques, coordination & collaboration with various internal teams, and working closely with engineering to integrate solutions into our production systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Compile timely, comprehensive and accurate documentation and or reports as requested

Must Have: 

Academic Qualifications

  • Experience (preferred Degree) in Computer Science, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Robotics or related technical field.
  • Experience training deep convolutional and/or recurrent neural networks.
  • Experience with Embedded Systems.
