The Instructional Designer will create comprehensive learning solutions that addresses the individual, team and/or global organizational skill; knowledge and behavioural requirements. This individual will use their extensive knowledge of learning theory and instructional design processes to create contextually-rich, results-driven learning solutions that raises productivity/performance.
You Are Great At:
- Works closely with all level of leaders and subject matter experts (SMEs) throughout the design process.
- Design and development process includes assessing learner needs and styles, defining learning goals, determining effective learning solutions (ILT; Digital; Webinar; Job Aid etc.), supporting the implementation of the training, and evaluating the effectiveness embedding continuous improvement to ensure relevancy.
- Develops detailed learning plans and storyboards with well-articulated delivery strategies.
- Assess appropriate learning tools suitable with existing technology platform as it relates to using rapid e-learning tools such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, and video/audio authoring tools.
- Uses ADDIE &/or Bloom’s Taxonomy framework to create facilitator and participant guides, training data and supporting materials for instructor-led training sessions.
- Designs assessments and evaluation, using the Kirkpatrick model and/or best practices in adult learning and evaluation for in class, virtual, on-line, mobile and social learning.
What It Takes:
- BS or MA degree in instructional design, adult education, psychology or social sciences
- Minimum 8+ years of professional experience in instructional design with instructional technology and web-based content development
- Certified training and development professional is an asset
- Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
- Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator) with ability to storyboard and write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts
- Excellent critical thinking, communication, prioritization, and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills demonstrating tact and diplomacy. Flexibility, creativity and the ability to work in a rapidly changing work environment
