Director, Business Development

The Director of Business Development will be responsible for the overall management & coordination of all proactive business development activities, aligning priorities with our strategy to improve our market position and achieve financial growth.

They will also be responsible for planning and coordinating the implementation of business development initiatives and the penetration of new markets in collaboration with Sales and Business Line leaders including the development of target customer lists, identifying and qualifying new application areas for growth, generating proposals that speak to the customer's needs, concerns, and objectives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and report progress against a Business Development plan
  • Coordinate Business Development activities across the business, includes working directly with Sales, Business Line Leaders, Product Management & Marketing & Contracts
  • Interact directly with new potential customers worldwide, ultimately converting them into customers including setting up meetings between customer decision makers and company’s leaders
  • Help manage existing key customers and ensure they stay satisfied and positive; grow and retain these key customers by presenting new solutions and services
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions, competitive offerings and the solutions/services we can provide
  • Inform current and potential partners about key business developments
  • Collaborate with Marketing department to ensure proper branding
  • Drive increased revenue and profit to achieve the Company`s ambitious growth
  • Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and trends
  • Present business development training and mentoring to other staff involved in business development
  • Present to and consult with mid and senior level management and interact with other Business Units to help Teledyne Imaging overall achieve its goals


  • Bachelor’s degree 10+ years of relevant experience
  • It would be a significant asset to have prior experience in Imaging, including Vision Systems, factory automation, robotics, and embedded imaging solutions
