Director, Software Development - FinTech

The Opportunity

They’re looking for an experienced Development Director to lead the Robots team - that builds and maintains reliable connections to the online services and financial institutions. This role reports into the VP of Development, managing a team of 15 student developers, 4 full-time developers and an offshore team of 10+ developers, to analyze, design and develop software enhancements.

  • Develop, manage and coach a team of software developers.

  • Provide project management and technical leadership for every aspect of the robots software.

  • Process Control - Manage the lifecycle for different projects inclusive of research, development, design, evaluation, testing along with delivery to product management.

  • Define clear health metrics that reflect the stability of our services.

  • Collaborate with the other development and product teams to define technical requirements, architectures and designs based on business needs.

You are the ideal candidate if you:

  • Have 10+ years experience in a technical role in the software industry.

  • Have 5+ years of managing, mentoring and developing top software developer talent.

  • Have experience in designing and maintaining scalable, performant and reliable systems.

  • Have a strong sense of ownership, urgency and drive.

  • Have experience in establishing and managing agile processes.

  • Have the ability to manage, direct and motivate staff to deliver projects under tight deadlines.

  • Have excellent technical communication with peers and non-technical cohorts.

  • Have experience with modern version control and ticketing systems. We use Git and Jira.

  • Have hands-on experience with JavaScript, preferably node.js.

  • Hold a BS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
