About the work:
As our security engineer, you are passionate about keeping a watchful eye on our systems, logs and processes, and keeping the bad guys out of our products and services. If you are interested in contributing to the security of thousands of end users, keep reading!
The security engineering position will be the foundation in supporting, contributing and advancing the security monitoring function. You will monitor, manage, define and improve alerts from our security infrastructure and tools, news feeds, twitter, emails, determining if action needs to be taken, investigating and escalating when necessary. Through solid monitoring, you will ensure that our international and production systems, applications, network and infrastructure are operated in accordance with our policies, security standards and industry best practices.
You’ll be working cross functionally with our Support and Technical teams performing research, identifying security risks and mitigating those risks by providing guidance and assistance with remediation plans.
You have 3+ years experience managing real-time web applications with thousands of users. You’re creative and energetic, and are ready to bring your best ideas to the table. You are the perfect blend of network security expert, DBA, and linux guru. You have experience configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting high availability multi-server environments. You are passionate and curious about the latest open source technologies that can help drive our company forward. You are able to design and apply pentests on controlled environments. You are also very organized, and pride yourself on automating everything!
You know hardware inside and out, from installations, rebuilds, and maintenance to services, settings and storage. You know that things can go wrong and are more than happy to pitch in to make it right, even if it’s not during regular office hours.
Identify and develop critical alerts and signals for monitoring.
Execute security investigations and escalations.
Conduct vulnerability assessments on our software and architecture.
Develop and execute internal penetration testing methodologies.
Daily monitoring of security infrastructure, logs, tools, and news feeds.
Work with other members of the team to deliver and make suggestions for improvements in the company's security roadmap.
Provide support services during off hours.
3+ years of Linux experience (Redhat / CentOS).
Intimate knowledge of high availability multiple server architectures.
Deep understanding of web technologies such as nginx, Apache, & MySQL.
Enterprise backup and recovery systems.
Possess a strong knowledge of system, database, and network security.
Strong organizational, operational and process capabilities.
Experience with central logging tools, methodologies, and best practices.
Strong understanding of security principles, tools, and processes.
