What you’ll do as a DevOps/IT Developer:

As a DevOps/IT Developer you’ll be joining Gareth Davis our DevOps Lead as the first set of boots on the ground as part a small and growing DevOps team at Bonfire. The DevOps team owns defining, managing, and securing our infrastructure in a robust and automated manner by bringing your unique expertise and views to the team.  You will also be a key player in keeping our team up and running from a technological point of view.  At Bonfire, DevOps is tightly integrated with general development and you’ll get the opportunity to work on many different software projects, contributing your current strengths while honing your skills to become the Competent Human.  Here are some of the things you’ll do:

  • Build and maintain configuration management scripts using Ansible in support of developers application requirements.

  • Maintain oversight and monitoring of systems through automation and reporting.

  • Take an active role in the management and development of our security programs.

  • Keep Bonfire team members productive by assisting them with their tools and systems.

  • Research and evaluate new tools and technology to keep Bonfire up to date in an ever-changing technological landscape.

What you need:

  • Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering degree or equivalent./

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • You shouldn’t have to be told what to do next, you just do it.

  • A comfort level with working on multiple projects at once.

  • Experience with DevOps tools and concepts; Ansible, AWS and Vagrant experience is particularly desirable.

  • Experience in our current application stack (PHP, Python, MySQL, AngularJS, NodeJS) is helpful.
