Summary:

 

FleetCarma, established in 2007, is a high-tech Waterloo-based company providing a unique connected car platform focused on electric vehicles that helps green the transportation sector and enable the integration of electric vehicles (EVs) into the smart grid. Our key customers are private and public-sector fleet operators, leasing companies, researchers, and electric utilities.  The ideal candidate for the business development representative position will be joining the team to further develop and execute our revenue growth strategy with our core customer groups.  This includes:

 

  • Supporting lead generation and qualification activities
  • Calling prospective customers that express interest in FleetCarma products
  • Networking with industry professionals at conferences
  • Speaking on behalf of the company at utility, fleet, and EV events
  • Supporting the execution of FleetCarma’s tradeshow strategy
  • Supporting the marketing team in developing collateral for events and online content

Success in this role means:

  • Managing the execution of 3 conferences/tradeshows/roadshows a quarter (US and EU)
  • Tracking industry news and reaching out to new leads when projects are announced
  • Delivering on key business development metrics to support the sales team goals
  • Prospecting 80+ leads per quarter – from both inbound and outbound marketing
  • Converting 20+ sales qualified leads per quarter

Job qualifications:

  • A driven, results-oriented individual with good time management
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communications skills
  • Previous sales and marketing experience considered an asset
  • Undergraduate degree or college diploma in business, environmental studies, engineering and/or related field, with relevant graduate degree considered an asset
  • Interest in electric vehicles and green technology considered an asset

Working conditions:

  • Full-time availability is required for this position, with the need to travel to exciting destinations approximately 20% - 25% of the time (typically 1 week per month)
