As a Global Data Steward you will play an important role in managing the different data sources within the organization through data collection and gathering insights from data stored. You will develop a strong understanding of Sonova’s customer/consumer data flow, quality and usability across the multiple applications/sources and develop governing definitions, standards and procedures for data interfaces. This crucial role will work closely with business leaders, functional leaders, organizational units to define, develop and execute a data strategy. You will work with the various sources and interfaces to drive customer/consumer data improvements and enhancements jointly with the business and considering internal and external data.


Your Tasks

Develops a global data map that describes our customers/consumers based on data collected across all relevant applications from scratch
Collaborates with business & IT to develop and govern definitions, standards, and procedures for the interfaces between applications, storage, and data products to ensure stability of current data products and enable new analytics
Identifies, develops and communicates data quality metrics, benchmarks the state of data quality, and initiates data cleaning activities in collaboration with various Business Owners of relevant applications
Facilitates the exchange of data between systems precisely and consistently, with the goal of data integrity and the reuse of data for data analytics
Collaborates with business (CRM, sales, GC, Retail, R&D) to support Sonova's efforts to create market visibility
Functions as data sourcing expert for new project initiatives involving new integrations (internal and external)
Maps out a Sonova’s customer & consumer data strategy
Develops a global data map showing all customer & consumer data points across relevant global applications
Supports & advises on developing standards for data entry to ensure that the data fulfills business/analytics needs
Ensures standards for data interfaces are in place and are governed
Monitors data consistency, quality and validity with those standards
Collaborates with all stakeholders along the data pipeline


Your Experience
University degree in Business and/or related program
3-5 years of experience in working on data interfaces and system of records definitions
Expertise in data stewardship
Experience in setting up and running data quality and data profiling technologies
Ability to map out business and interface processes
Experience with data life cycle management (data entry, data mutation, data removal)
Proven experience in relationship building with demonstrated skills in organizing, motivating and influencing professional staff and colleagues, and working effectively with senior leadership
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work both independently and with cross-functional teams and international teams
Highly self-motivated and disciplined
High degree of flexibility
Confidence in presenting and communicating ideas to others.
Time management skills, ability to multitask, confidence in decision making under pressure
Good organizational, problem solving and project management skills. Able to deliver consistently high quality solutions according to required timelines.
Capable of working under pressure
Ability to establish and foster cooperative business relationships
Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
Knowledgeable with Confluence, Sharepoint, JIRA is an asset
