We are looking for someone who thrives in a start-up research and development environment, where innovation, initiative, flexibility and results are valued. As a Robotics Designer at 2G Robotics you will take on a multidisciplinary role that includes the includes mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing aspects. Responsibilities will vary based the product development process, but will include:

  • Mechanical design of products and test fixtures
  • Electrical design of production testing fixtures and tools
  • Definition of production procedures (QC & Testing)
  • Production support and troubleshooting
  • Prototype test plan generation and execution

Credentials

Absolutely Must Have:

  • Engineering degree or college diploma in a related subject (mechanical or electrical)
  • Mechanical design and drawing generation using Solidworks (CAD)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes (mill, lathe, sheet metal)
  • Basic electrical and programming experience using microcontrollers
  • Experience with test plan design and execution
  • Experience assembling and testing electromechanical systems
  • Proven project management and prioritization skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Detail and quality oriented

The ideal candidate will have experience with most of the following:

  • PCB design experience
  • Programming in C, C++, Bash, and Python
  • Experience with optical components: cameras, lasers, lenses, etc.
  • Experience with underwater housings or pressure vessels
