Responsible to the Manager, Development Solutions and Delivery for delivering innovative and effective computer applications that will be used in Home Stores across the country.

Working with business matter specialists to design and develop software that meets and exceeds the expectations of Home Dealers.

Develop software using diverse methodologies that will ensure solutions are delivered on-time and as expected. 

Analyze complex problems, consulting with business and systems analysts enhancing Home’s Retail applications.

Perform code unit testing and participate in peer code reviews.

Follow and maintain coding standards and adhere to proper documentation, code management, procedures and methodologies.  Stay up-to-date with current and future technologies.

Other duties as assigned by the Manager, Development Solutions and Delivery.


College/University diploma or degree in computer programming or equivalent experience.

Proven understanding of Object Oriented and Functional programming as well as demonstrated ability to utilize design patterns.

Understanding of Agile and Waterfall SDLCs.

Extensive experience of Microsoft C/AL (NAV) and .Net Framework technologies.

Excellent knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript, with preference given to candidates whom have implemented large scale frameworks using these technologies.

Experience creating and consuming Web Services (SOAP, OData, REST).

Working experience with Cloud hosted applications.  Windows, Linux, and Windows PowerShell scripting experience.

Excellent knowledge of SQL Azure and large-scale high-performance SQL Server databases (2012 R2+).  Working knowledge of SQL Server Reporting Services and Power BI.

TCP/IP Socket programming experience an asset.

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in systems development.

Excellent organizational skills and exceptional problem-solving skills.  Ability to work independently and contribute to a team effort. 

Complete understanding of distributed source control tools including Mercurial and GIT.

English/French bilingualism is an asset.
