Paddle HR is a Toronto-based startup helping employees within large companies find new jobs at their company. We are a funded company and have graduated from Founders Factory (London, UK), Acceleprise (San Francisco), and Ideaboost (Toronto) accelerators.

Our motivation is based on preparing the world for the Future of Work, and our product is one part of the broader transformation. We are passionate about improving the careers of our users.

What the job is like:

Work on an interdisciplinary team to deliver a product that delights. Reporting to our CTO, and working alongside other engineers, data scientists, designers, and product managers to accomplish our goals.

As a full-stack developer, you will be supporting both the FE and BE teams. 

Write production-ready code, we push code quickly and often.

Be adaptable and ready to support the team’s goals. This means being ready to start new projects, and put others on hold – we learn quickly.

Help us grow our engineering team from a small nimble team to multiple product teams delivering our product across the world.

What do you need to do it:

Strong ability (and desire) to learn new technologies. Currently, we use React.js, Docker, Python Django, GraphQL, GCP servers, etc. However, we are always evaluating technology decisions and looking for technologies to make our jobs easier and our products better.

Understand and be comfortable working with the basics of web development: server, networks, browsers & hosting environments, basic UI & UX, database design, build and use REST APIs, testing & quality assurance, and security.

Effective listening skills and feedback skills, with experience taking a continuous improvement and rapid iteration approach to development.

Being interested in the problems facing the Future of Work / HR & Talent Tech / etc is a big plus.

Minimum of 2 years of web development experience on a team.
