Manulife Bank is a dynamic organization providing quality application development and support in diverse technologies. We are looking for a highly motivated Deployment Specialist to join our Application Support and Mangement team on a regular full-time basis.

 

The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring service delivery, support of application development and production environments for Manulife Bank.

 

Responsibilities

  • Receive, compile, evaluate, release / deploy, manage code deliveries to development and production regions working closely with a matrix of service providers and customers
  • Apply technical and business knowledge to identify, analyze, and solve systems problems
  • Support bank’s technical services development and production environments
  • Adhere to defined processes for releases and code management so audit controls are met
  • Coordinate Bank technical environment activities facilitating optimal availability for production and project delivery
  • Communication and coordination with diverse technical and business groups
  • Participate in peer reviews of technical design and implementations
  • Participate in technical project deliverables as needed
  • Create and maintain technical and process documentation
  • Look for opportunities to automate manual processes

 

Qualifications

  • 1 to 3 years in a similar role
  • Experience with any of the following: GIT/Gitlab systems, Java, Progress 4GL, Oracle, MS SQL, Jenkins, Visual Studio, MSBUILD, RAD, WebSphere, and Artifactory
  • Proven analytical and technical problem-solving skills; ability to define, research and resolve problems
  • Strong organization and communication skills are essential
  • Code management and code promotion best practices experience
  • Deployment automation experience
  • Working Knowledge of Database query construction, testing, and execution best practices
  • Working knowledge of commercial databases and standards
  • Knowledge of application infrastructure and technical platforms
  • Solid understanding of Environment Management in an Enterprise setting
  • Strong documentation skills in both diagram and text formats
  • Post-secondary degree in computer sciences/information systems or equivalent experience

Nice to Have

  • Banking, Financial Services or Insurance industry experience and/or knowledge
  • Formal documentation and/or knowledge management training and experience
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence and SharePoint

 

Special Considerations:

Some assignments such as production deployments are performed outside regular business hours (including weekends), flexibility to accommodate is needed.
