Business Development Manager

The Business Development Team generates Sales Qualified Leads for the Field and Inside Sales Teams.  The Manager will be responsible for insuring daily tactics are executed on the Business Development strategy defined in concert with the Director of inside sales. 


As a Manager, this role will insure the achievement of company goals for the Business Development Reps (BDRs) in accordance with company strategy as well as providing project support as defined by the Director, Business Development.  



To assist the BDR team in meeting overall objectives including but not limited to:


• Optimize BDR Strategy and go to market lead generation plan

• Hire, Train and performance manage BDRs

• Provide guidance and mentoring to the BDRs on their daily activities

• In particular, assist in training new BDRs to improve the ramp-up time of new BDRs, thereby improving team output

• Schedule regular status meetings with individual BDRs to insure their output matches their goals

• Produce reporting on output vs. goals, and provide input into strategy to improve this output

• Work cross functionally to ensure BDRs are trained on Product, Process & Sales skill development

• Assist with strategic projects including but not limited to data strategy, tools purchases, Salesforce integrations as required

• Provide input to Director on cultural/job satisfaction issues within the Business Development Team

• Assist in the development of Territory Strategies for each BDR


To be successful in this role you will have: 


• College/University Degree or Diploma

• Strong understanding of eSentire’s Business Development Processes and Techniques

• Strong understanding of eSentire’s Service Offerings

• Excellent interpersonal skills, open to direction and collaborative work styles

• Proven ability to delegate responsibilities and tasks effectively

• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment

• Previous exceptional BDR experience

• Aptitude for encouraging and inspiring continued skill growth in team members

• Strong leadership abilities

• Must have strong organizational skills

• Must have strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality service

• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment

• Must be able to collaborate with others
