Hello, Mr. or Mrs. Steve Wozniak?

Who are we?

Traffic Is Currency gives the 95% of website visitors that would typically leave your website after visiting one page a damn good reason to stay and engage further. We do this through our recommendation engine which can predict what digital content you’d most likely engage with based on what content you’re currently reading, what you’ve engaged with in the past, and what problem you’re trying to solve.

The best part is all of this is done in real time for each visitor so that we can improve a website’s conversion rate by over 320%. This method of recommendation is so effective that it can save a digital marketing manager anywhere from $20,000-100,000 a month. Not too shabby, right?

Currently, we’re backed by Canada's leading incubator, Waterloo's Accelerator Centre.

Why are we different?

Well, for starters, here’s a list of our perks:

  • No free lunches or snacks. We’ll let you bring your own.

  • No annoying ping pong, foosball, or pool tables.

  • No painful, free massages.

  • No office.

  • No office politics.

  • No hierarchy.

As you’ll notice our perks are a little different than most. Since we encourage all of our employees to work remote and explore the world, we rather not tie you down with an office. Terrible, we know.

What we give a shit about?

  • That you can self-manage, challenge yourself, and take ownership.

  • You believe a good job is its own reward.

  • You’re an avid learner and love to develop technology that is at the forefront of innovation.

  • You get shit done.

What don't we give a shit about?

  • Where you work. You could be in Bali for all we care. We think face-time in an office is overrated, so we only monitor your results.

  • What you wear. You could be in your swim trunks while working. We don’t judge.

  • Authority. If you want to challenge an idea or business approach, we encourage you to.

  • Mediocrity. If you regularly produce mediocre work, please apply to our competitors instead. We set high standards for everyone and only expect the best from each other.

Why is this position different?

Well, Steve. We’ll let you pick a new title and run the technical show. As the team grows, we want you to lead product innovation and constantly push the limits of what our technology can do.

One of the best parts is that you’re getting in at the ground level of Traffic Is Currency. We’re a small team that’s hell bent on drastically improving the engagement on websites and challenging ourselves.

We don’t want Traffic Is Currency to have thousands of employees, we want this company to stay under 100 employees and impact millions of businesses across the world. Like Basecamp, we believe having a small, remote team will allow us to hire the best in the world and stay agile.

Our promise to you is that if you choose to work with Traffic Is Currency, it’s going to be one hell of a challenge and rewarding lifestyle.

What kind of technical chops we’re looking for?

  • PhD or Bachelors in Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience in Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Algorithmic Foundations of Optimization, Data Mining or Machine Intelligence (Artificial Intelligence).

  • Programming experience in one or more of the following: Java, C/C++, C#, Objective C, Python, JavaScript, or Go.
