Junior Graphic Designer (Freelance)

Summary of the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated, creative and dynamic Junior Graphic Designer to assist our in-house design team. In this position, the candidate will be responsible for creating promotional and brand-specific material for our various products on a freelance basis. The focus of this position will be mainly the creation of branding material such as social graphics, infographics, and custom website graphics.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with our in-house designer

  • Execute designs, concepts, and sample layouts in line with brand identity

  • Develop graphics and layouts for product illustrations, and internet advertising

  • Proofreading and corrections with careful attention to detail

  • Carrying out other related duties as the situation arises


Required Qualifications and Skill Sets:

  • Extensive experience with Photoshop and Illustrator, InDesign is a bonus

  • 2 – 3 years experience in design with a strong design portfolio

  • Fluent written and spoken English

  • Degree or certification in graphic design is an asset

  • Ability to work in a team and independently

  • Professional, detail oriented, highly motivated

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to absorb and apply constructive criticism

  • Strictly adhere to deadlines


Position Type: Freelance contract with a mix of in-office and remote work hours. Office is located in Waterloo, Ontario.
