Business Development Representative (BDR)

Aterlo Networks ( is a Waterloo-based startup company that builds innovative software products that measure and to improve the quality of experience of Internet users. We are a small team of networking experts who are solving hard problems and building great products. Our Preseem product is used by hundreds of Fixed Wireless providers to visualize, understand and improve the quality of experience of their customers.


About the Role

This is not your ‘typical large team, follow an existing script, BDR’ role. As Aterlo’s first BDR, you will work closely with the marketing and sales teams and use your previous experience to help shape this position for a growing team to further help fuel Aterlo’s rapid growth. As such, there is significant growth potential for someone excelling in this role.

You will develop strategies and be responsible for identifying, qualifying, researching, and warming up prospective buyers for Preseem.



  • Follow up with warm leads from trade shows, webinars and other inbound leads from our marketing initiatives
  • Work together with our marketing team and account managers to identify new potential prospects and gather business intelligence
  • Help design and execute on an effective outbound strategy
  • Delivering compelling explanations of Preseem’s capabilities to prospects resulting in qualified prospects and meetings with an account manager



  • Two+ years experience in other business development type roles
  • A strong technical aptitude
  • A people person, with a friendly and positive manner
  • The ability to quickly build rapport with almost anyone
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, self-development and lifelong learning
  • A tenacious self-starter with a drive to succeed
  • Post-secondary education in any field
