Web Developer/Analyst

We require a qualified individual to join the Web Services team and assume responsibility for development and support of the college website and ancillary access points/portals. 


  • Analyze, design, code, develop, implement, document, and support web applications and systems
  • Interact with IT functional teams to maintain and develop the website infrastructure and architecture including integrations and feeds from relevant enterprise systems and in accordance with proper quality, control, and integrity standards
  • Work with departments and area managers to help manage content/documents and related database information, data integration with existing and future College Academic/ Administrative systems, and incorporating marketing and other priority initiatives into the College websites
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and on budget within design standards
  • Provide support for website development projects, including day-to-day guidance to the College staff and IT web design student staff to address any questions or issues regarding the college websites or related web/portal development projects
  • Consult with various management entities, to define the business and process requirements for web/portal development
  • Provide advice and guidance regarding software and other provisions related to the websites
  • Provide input to a design team/group, to design the look and feel, structure standards, navigation, and data integration of new College websites and services
  • Support related implementation and maintenance strategies
  • Prepare design, specification, process, structure and other technical documentation
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams on the continued definition and development of the service oriented architecture and overall web services framework
  • Administer websites ensuring appropriate backup, user management, and other procedures are established and maintained
  • Create, maintain, and document web coding, structure, and content standards, particularly as it relates to Web/Online Accessibility (AODA)
  • Direct website feedback to appropriate area and when necessary, provide action taken to the person submitting
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis to maintain current knowledge of technologies


  • Three year diploma/degree in Information Technology (including fluency in modern web development technologies, platforms and methodologies such as: SOA, HTML, Java/JSP/JavaScript/jQuery, CSS, XML/SOAP, C#/ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC, SharePoint, Servlets, Portlets, IIS, Apache, SQL Server and/or Oracle; Visual Studio, SSRS, TFS).
  • Minimum two years of practical and comprehensive experience leading the design and development of dynamic interactive web services and related sites using modularized, component, and service oriented constructs and frameworks
  • Comprehensive web design and development background and experience
  • Mobile development experience is required
  • Excellent programming capabilities in Java and Microsoft development environments
  • Knowledge of HTML5, ASP.NET MVC and SharePoint is a must
  • Familiar with portal technologies, WCF, WPF, SOA
  • Demonstrated planning, organizational, and project management skills
  • Experience managing projects of various sizes and scope
  • Excellent knowledge of portal, system integration and mobility technologies and methodologies
  • Good understanding of or preferably practical experience in Single Sign On (SSO) and Identity Management/Authentication (IDM), including AD and ADFS
  • Hands-on, organized, team player, quick learner, excellent communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Excellent understanding of Internet technologies and associated security implications
