Security Administrator

The Security Administrator is primarily responsible for the day to day administration of security deliverables for production and corporate environments.  You will establish/maintain relationships with key department leads in an effort to continue strong communication of planned and unplanned Information Technology events.  This is a 18 month contract role.   


  • Configure, support and evaluate security tools
  • Review network/system designs and evaluate compliance to applicable security standards
  • Log monitoring and analysis
  • Perform internal vulnerability assessments
  • Coordinate external penetration tests and vulnerability assessments
  • Conduct security audits and provide recommendations to mitigate potential risks
  • Configure and support anti-virus and patch management systems
  • Produce or modify disaster recovery and business continuity policy and procedures
  • User account access auditing; ensuring data accurate
  • Management of vendor security solution providers
  • Interface with external clients on security audits
  • Respond to RFPs with security related requirements
  • Ensure representation in change management process
  • Maintain documentation on process, procedure and compliance

What skills you need to have:

  • Bachelor of Engineering or Computer Science Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in related field, with proven history in information security management in a production environment
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to interact with others in a team environment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, meet deadlines
  • ITIL V3 foundation certification, or extensive understanding of ITIL concepts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Experience securing Linux and Windows environments and strong networking background
  • CISSP certification an asset
