Marketing Manager - Demand Generation

Location: London, ON

The Marketing Manager, Demand Generation is responsible for overseeing and optimizing Voices.com demand generation activities across various channels, including search engine marketing (paid search and display), organic search (including search engine optimization), social, email and remarketing. This position has several direct reports, who are channel specialists/managers, and reports to the Vice President of Marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Manage direct reports, including the Channel Manager, SEM & SEO, Channel Specialist, Email, and Channel Specialist Social & Events.

  • Work closely with other members of the marketing team, including those in Product Marketing, Content Marketing and PR, to support and fulfill corporate objectives

  • Monitor Voices.com organic search results, as well as what competing content related to the voice-over industry is otherwise available, to ensure that as much as possible, all signs point to Voices.com. This includes:

  • Reviewing search engine results for important keywords, and working to ensure Voices.com is ranking, and ranking in increasingly better positions

  • Support the Content Marketing team by making recommendations for content to further optimize organic search objectives, to inform new content work, and optimize existing content.

  • Monitor Voices.com site authority and position using various tools, both alone and relative to competitors

  • Oversee search engine marketing efforts (with support from the Channel Manager, SEM & SEO), including Google Adwords, display, remarketing, and more as required

  • Manage and own the marketing automation platform (Pardot) including the Campaigns function in Salesforce (with support from the Channel Specialist, Email), to:

  • Develop ideas for campaigns and emails to meet the objectives set for each (for example, generate revenue, gain referrals, etc.), in support of the campaign calendars developed by the Product Marketing Managers

  • Create the lists and other associations in the system to ensure the correct audience is receiving the communication

  • Oversee the development of email campaigns, monitor and report on results

  • Identify opportunities, and suggest ways to continually improve campaigns and email programming

  • Own social media properties (with support from the Channel Specialist, Social & Events), including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, YouTube, to:

  • Oversee the creation of relevant and engaging social content based on what the Content team is developing, while following and respecting the established brand voice, utilizing the social management platform (Social Studio)

  • Drive sign-ups through strategic programs through these social channels to meet goals

  • Engage the audiences to build brand positive relationships

  • Report on results and recommend new ways to achieve goals

  • Manage and own pages of the website relevant to demand generation, including those featuring sign-up or other lead generation forms, and inform the various paths potential customers take to find themselves on those critical pages. Including:

  • Creating new webpages to support various marketing or campaign efforts as required

  • Ongoingly reviewing the site to ensure optimal SEO practices are implemented throughout, from both a content and technical perspective

  • Identify gaps in main site content, and work to optimize

  • Be the expert and authority in Google Analytics, for reporting, identifying trends, getting ahead of challenges, and more.

 

Remain current with various industry changes that could impact demand generation efforts, including:
 

  • Spam or email-related legislation, with a focus on the United States but also Canada and other key countries

  • Google algorithm or other search results- or SEO-related changes

  • Relevant trending themes or topics which could be beneficial to participate in

  • Forecast and report on results from all demand generation activities

Required Skills

  • 5-7 years work experience in a marketing capacity

  • Prior experience managing people

  • Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with the ability to use data to inform decisions

  • Strong attention to detail, project management skills, data analysis abilities

  • Proficiency with various online platforms including Google Analytics, social software and marketing automation tools

  • Experience with Salesforce, Social Studio, and Pardot in particular is not required, but would be a strong asset

  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS and Adobe Creative Suite

  • BAA with a focus in Marketing
