Consumer Marketing Insights Analyst - Marketing

Responsible to the Senior Director, Marketing to drive profitable growth for Home Hardware and our Dealers by supporting the Marketing team in achieving strategic goals.

Proactively deliver market, competitive and consumer insights by analyzing and synthesizing data from multiple sources (syndicated data, consumer research, retailer POS, etc.).

Provide business units with models to aid targeting and understanding of consumer behaviour.

Own the delivery of insights and consumer performance behavioural intelligence for the Marketing team making recommendations for implementing improvements to current marketing practices and tactics.

Champion consumer and category insights and distill key messages through story-telling to various stakeholders within the organization.

Lead the Marketing team on identifying and resolving data quality issues that exist in the POS master database.

Understand business unit requirements (primarily Marketing, Merchandising and Operations) and advise the best way to fulfil these with the data and tools available.

Turn key data analytics into meaningful and actionable consumer insights to improve business performance.

Create and maintain statistically robust models to facilitate the business requirements, for example in the areas of acquisitions, retention and cross-sell. 

Advise business units of appropriate marketing actions and use of standard analysis, reports and model deployment based on the relevant information to ensure maximum benefit.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

College / University diploma or degree in Business preferred.

Minimum 3 years of analytic experience within the retail or related industry.

Advanced knowledge of syndicated third-party data (Nielsen, Retailer POS systems).

Advanced knowledge of MS Office, specifically expert level knowledge of Excel.  Capable of learning new programs quickly.

Strong multi-tasker who can work independently and in a team environment.

Sound technical knowledge of Power BI, SAS, Tableau and other analytical and modelling software.

Solid business acumen and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Effective analytic story-telling through presentation of insights in a clear, coherent and compelling format.
