About the Position

We need you to help write software to develop our smart video streaming player.  You will develop expertise in various media streaming standards (MPEG, SDI, HDMI, HLS, DASH), and learn about machine assessed human visual perception of video quality.


  • Design and implement software to build on our smart video streaming player

  • Develop a constant quality solution for video streaming

  • Collaborate with other software team to write high performance and scalable video and data processing systems

  • Produce high-quality, maintainable and testable code to enable scalable growth and customer success

  • Own your work from inception to deployment, driving the full software lifecycle

  • Contribute to the successful execution of an agile/scrum project

  • Help to build a world-class development team through knowledge sharing and co-mentorship

  • Work in a fast-paced scale-up environment closely with the executives and customers


  • 3+ years Software development experience in Javascript and object oriented design and implementation.

  • 1+ years Expertise in at least one other programming language (Java, Python, Go, C++, etc)

  • Experience in standard software development methodologies.

  • Experience with MPEG2, H.264 and other codecs

  • Experience with broadcast standards such as MPEG-TS, ATSC, DVB, and SCTE and their applications

  • Experience writing and maintaining unit tests

  • Be passionate about developing high quality, robust software.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in fullstack user interface development

  • Knowledge of Adaptive Bitrate technologies (DASH, HLS)  and how they apply to OTT delivery

  • Experience with video stream readers/parsers and muxers/demuxers

  • Exposure to video processing algorithms and libraries such as FFmpeg, GStreamer.

  • Exposure to data streaming technologies (Kafka)

  • Experience working with REST APIs

  • Scripting skills (bash, Python)

  • Experience using git for version control

  • Experience working with and designing software for virtualisation and containerisation technologies (KVM, VMWare, Virtual Box, Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Open community participation such as StackExchange, GitHub.
