We currently have offices in Bermuda, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. Based in Waterloo, Canada, Validus Research Inc. (VRI) is a subsidiary of AIG dedicated to catastrophe research, risk modeling, and development of analytical tools. VRI supports Validus operations worldwide through VCAPS, a proprietary risk analytical application.

The formerly named Validus Group of Companies, is a provider of reinsurance, insurance, and insurance linked securities management operating through three primary segments, Validus Reinsurance, Ltd., Talbot Holdings Ltd. and AlphaCat Managers, Ltd. Validus Reinsurance, Ltd. (“Validus Re”) is a Bermuda based reinsurer focused on short tail lines of reinsurance. Talbot Holdings Ltd. (“Talbot”) is the Bermuda parent of the specialty insurance group primarily operating within the Lloyd’s insurance market through Syndicate 1183. AlphaCat Managers, Ltd. (“AlphaCat”) is a Bermuda based investment adviser managing capital for third-parties and the Group in insurance linked securities and other property catastrophe reinsurance investments.
Between Validus Re and Talbot, the Group has offices in Bermuda, London, New York, Miami, Chile, Singapore, Dubai and Hamburg. These locations are complemented by the Group’s catastrophe research and risk modelling centre (Validus Research) based in Ontario, Canada.
